The La Porte Park and Recreation Department Tennis Program has offered lessons for Adults and Children of all ages since 1966. The Tennis Program is designed to give the best possible instruction at a reasonable cost. It is a comprehensive program that offers the latest techniques and instructional methods by quality instructors with years of teaching experience. For the past 37 years, thousands of children in the La Porte community have learned to play the great sport of tennis!
The La Porte Tennis Program is recognized as an outstanding Recreation Program and is part of the United States Tennis Association’s National Junior Excellence Tennis Program!
Our goal is to provide a training and development program that is accessible to every interested person at the local level. It is our intention to insure that there is a pathway to tennis success for people from every background who aspire to learn and enjoy the game of tennis. We encourage the participation of all people regardless of Race, Color, Religion, or gender.
Our program has developed many outstanding junior players who have played high school and college tennis as well as those who just want to play tennis for a fun recreational activity.

THERE IS NO INCREASE OF FEES FROM 2003! FEES FOR 2004, (LEVELS 2,3,4,5 PLUS MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL INCLUDE THE FEE FOR 2 HOURS OF INSTRUCTION AND 2 HOURS OF ORGANIZED PLAY OR SINGLES LEAGUE EACH WEEK! LAST YEAR THE FEES WERE THE SAME FOR THE LESSONS, PLAY AND LEAGUES, BUT WERE LISTED SEPARATE)

We will again be offering the option of getting a New Tennis Racket for an additional cost. The racket is made by Head Manufacturing and is of good quality that will provide years of play. This is a great racket for only an additional $10.00-$15.00 and comes in various sizes (21”, 23”, 25” and 27”- adult size) to fit the size of the player! You could buy this racket for your first racket or for an extra racket for you or someone in your family! These are nice rackets for a great price!
